Uniper has signed a significant Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a major international industrial gas producer in Germany.
This nine-year agreement signifies a substantial step towards sustainability and energy transition. Starting in 2025, the collaboration will initially provide 25 GWh of green power annually, which will increase to 75 GWh from 2027 until the contract concludes in 2033.
This green power initiative aims to accelerate the decarbonization of a large industrial region in Germany by supporting the production of green hydrogen. As climate change drives companies to reduce carbon emissions, this agreement highlights Uniper’s capability to meet these challenges.
Carsten Poppinga, Uniper’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of this contract in aiding the energy transition and reducing emissions.
