Vestas secured a turbine supply order from Torshavn’s 25 MW onshore wind project located outside the Faroe Islands capital.
Powering the Torshavn project, which will more than double the total wind energy capacity of the Faroe Islands. The turbine will rise to a boost height of 91.5m, and the high wind operation will be applied because the average wind speed found on site is more than 9m/s.
The turbine is expected to be delivered and commissioned by the end of 2021. Vestas will also serve the project through a long-term AOM 5000 (Operational Output Management 5000) service contract, providing overall Vestas power and industry performance assurance.
