Vestas has received 8 MW order from Portuguese renewable energy producer, Finerge, for the extension of three wind parks across Portugal.
pThe order includes the supply and installation of two V120-2.2 MW wind turbines and one V136-3.6 MW wind turbine and a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement. Located in mountainous areas, the four wind projects would benefit from Vestas’ experience in logistics and installations under even the most demanding conditions.
“We are excited to partner with Finerge on these four projects that showcase the versatility of our portfolio. The reliability and competitiveness of our 2MW and 4MW platforms will provide them with long-term certainty and optimise their business case. We see a great potential in the Portuguese wind market, and we aim to contribute to the country’s ambitious plans to add more than 3 GW new wind turbines to reach 9 GW of wind capacity by 2030.”
Tiago Palma Veigas, Vestas’ director of operations in Portugal.
“This is Finerge’s return to building its own parks, something the company has not done for ten years, since 2011. We have entered the greenfield – putting an ambitious strategic plan into practice – and we are very pleased to be able to count on Vestas’ technology in this first initiative.”
Pedro Norton, CEO of Finerge.
Turbine delivery is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of2021, while commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2022.
