Prague Transport Company begins testing city’s first hydrogen-powered bus

The Prague Transport Company will begin testing the city’s first-ever hydrogen-powered bus in the first quarter of 2023.

The two-year pilot experiment will be conducted. The government has already agreed to lease the newest hydrogen bus, the koda H’CITY, from the Czech company Koda Transportation.

The 350 km maximum range of the hydrobus. In comparison, the electric bus requires three times as many refueling stops throughout the workday. A hydrogen refueling process takes 10 minutes, but a complete battery charge for an electric bus takes many hours.

The price of hydrogen is predicted to be roughly CZK 300 per kilogram, with the car consuming 10 kilos of hydrogen for every 100 kilometers.

German road approval for Hyundai XCIENT fuel cell

German roads have approved the first hydrogen pickup truck to be produced in large quantities. Hylane’s fleet of 44 trucks officially kicks off with the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell.

Seven German enterprises had indicated interest when Hyundai first stated in the summer that the XCIENT fuel cell truck would also be sold in Germany. The first XCIENT Fuel Cell has achieved road permission in Germany, specifically the car was registered in Cologne, as Hylane, one of the Hyundai clients, is now reporting.

The Federal Ministry of Transportation provided funding for the Hylane vehicle as part of the KsNI directive.

Oman-South Korea to host green hydrogen forum

Birba Energy, organizers of next month’s Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO) 2022 Conference & Exhibition, recently received a group led by HE Kim Kiejoo, Korean Ambassador to Oman.

Ambassador Kim gave details of the Korea-Oman Green Hydrogen Strategic Forum 2022 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Korea-Oman forum will be a half-day event on 5 December 2022 at the same venue as the 3-day display of Oman’s future green hydrogen sector.

Hydrogen Convergence Alliance of Korea (H2KOREA) co-hosts the forum with the Embassy to promote and develop the hydrogen economy. POSCO Holdings, Samsung Engineering, and Global Green Growth Institute will also make presentations (GGGI).

Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals, OQ Alternative Energy, Hydrom, and HY-FLY representatives will also attend.

€6.8 million for PEMA’s green hydrogen plant

The Ministry of Environment, Housing, and Territorial Planning, through the Public Society for Infrastructures and the Environment of Castilla y León (Somacyl), has awarded REDEXIS, SA 6,8 million euros for ‘Drafting of the construction project and supply of a green hydrogen production plant and execution of the installation works in the Environmental Business Park (PEMA) in Ga’. The installation lasts 14 months.

The green hydrogen production plant that will be built at PEMA and serve this Soria environment business park will occupy almost 3,000 square meters, including the office and control building, water storage tanks, and auxiliary installations for control and monitoring, air conditioning, lighting, security, etc.

The 2.5-megawatt plant will produce 477Nm3/hour and 2,146,500 Nm3/year of hydrogen.

Green hydrogen is a sustainable energy produced from water and renewable energy by decomposing H2O into O2 and H2 (H2). Electrolysis emits no pollutants. The PEMA facility will demonstrate green hydrogen technologies in Castilla y León.

Green hydrogen’s benefits are: 100% renewable, since the project uses electricity from renewable sources; storable, since it can be compressed and stored in tanks; transportable and versatile, since hydrogen can be transformed into electricity or synthetic fuels for commercial, industrial, or mobility uses.

Somacyl, a Junta-owned firm focusing in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Castilla y León, will lead the PEMA project.

Kola NPP plans hydrogen production

A bench test complex for hydrogen production is anticipated to be built at the Kola NPP.

The planned commissioning date is 2025. 200 tons of hydrogen can be stored in the complex annually.

“In 2025, we will produce this hydrogen,” said Vasily Omelchuk , director of the Kola NPP.

Octopus Hydrogen cancels order with Clean Power Hydrogen

After experiencing delays with the building of its first two MFE 220 units, Clean Power Hydrogen informed Octopus Energy Hydrogen that it had canceled its order with the firm.

On Tuesday, shares of Clean Power Hydrogen fell 16% to 34.00 pence per share in London.

The green hydrogen technology company, situated in Doncaster, England, said that delays were brought on by “ongoing worldwide supply chain challenges” as well as “technical and scale-up issues” discovered during the commissioning of its early units.

According to Clean Power, its Membrane-Free Electrolyser 220 device can produce 450 kg of high purity green hydrogen daily while using just 1 megawatt of input power.

Octopus Hydrogen has canceled its order with Clean Power Hydrogen as a result of the delays.
