Worley has secured a crucial contract to provide procurement, fabrication, and modularization services for Air Products’ Net Zero hydrogen energy complex in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The primary goal of Air Products’ Net Zero hydrogen energy complex is to enable refining and petrochemical customers to reduce the carbon intensity of their energy products and enhance their sustainability performance. By producing clean hydrogen and capturing and permanently sequestering carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, the complex aims to play a pivotal role in transitioning towards a low-carbon economy.
Worley’s involvement in the project will encompass fabricating and assembling process and pipe rack modules at its Edmonton modularisation yard, leveraging advanced automated pipe-cutting techniques and robotic welding. This state-of-the-art approach ensures precision and efficiency in construction, contributing to the overall success of the complex.
The Net Zero hydrogen energy complex is expected to have a profound impact on both the local economy and the broader sustainability landscape. In addition to significantly reducing carbon emissions, the project will create thousands of jobs, driving economic growth and fostering innovation in the region. Furthermore, by supporting Canada’s transition to Net Zero emissions, the complex aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and promote environmental stewardship.
