According to the Xunta de Galicia’s projections, Galicia will have a green hydrogen hub in the 2030 energy strategy, allowing for the production of over 100,000 tons of hydrogen per year for use in industry, transportation, storage, and cogeneration.
Vice President Francisco Conde made the news during the Galician Hydroxene Association’s “Falando de hidróxeno en feminino” conference, where he emphasized the importance of renewable energy in lowering power prices. A meeting was conducted at the entity’s offices in Oleiros, which was also attended by Mara Rivas, the government’s sub-delegate. Apart from the councilor, only women with specific weight in the sector have participated in this act, which is a novelty in comparison to the round tables made up entirely of males.
Mara Rivas, the sub-delegate, has emphasized the importance of renewable hydrogen as a vehicle for ecological and economic reactivation. She adds that the government has developed the PERTE program for renewable energy development, which includes 1,555 million for green hydrogen development and 2,800 million in private money.
The meeting brought together twenty directors, managers, coordinators, and specialists in green hydrogen and alternative energy. The administration has announced 17 more initiatives to help PERTE flourish, including education and training as well as the creation of 280,000 employees.
