Yara Clean Ammonia, a global leader in ammonia trading, joins forces with Greenko ZeroC, the green ammonia production arm of AM Green, to establish a transformative supply chain for renewable ammonia.
A term sheet has been signed, paving the way for a long-term offtake agreement covering up to 50% of renewable ammonia from Phase 1 of AM Green’s ammonia production facility in Kakinada, India. This strategic collaboration aims to produce and export renewable ammonia derived from round-the-clock carbon-free energy by 2027.
Renewable ammonia from AM Green’s facility will adhere to EU RFNBO and Renewable Energy Directive requirements. This sustainable fuel will play a pivotal role in Yara Clean Ammonia’s efforts to produce low-emission fertilizers and facilitate the decarbonization of industries such as shipping, power generation, and energy-intensive sectors.
Mahesh Kolli, President of AM Green, underscores the partnership’s significance in driving global clean energy transition solutions. The focus on innovation coupled with execution reinforces AM Green’s position as a leader in providing low-cost green molecules like hydrogen, ammonia, fuels, and chemicals to various industries.
According to Hans Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia, the collaboration with AM Green represents a significant expansion of their portfolio of renewable ammonia production.
