The appointment of Miguel Stilwell de Andrade as Chairman of the Board and CEO of EDPR was approved by the EDP Renewables (EDPR) Board of Directors.
Rui Teixeira, who has been EDPR’s interim CEO since last July, has been appointed as CFO of the company.
Following these appointments, EDPR consolidates a leading management team with excellent expertise in the green energy industry and the requisite capabilities to address a crucial moment in the energy transformation of which, through its dedication to the production of renewable energies, EDPR has shown a deep commitment.
Miguel Stilwell and Rui Teixeira will collaborate with Duarte Bello (Europe & Brazil), Miguel Angel Prado (North America) and Spyridon Martinis, the three COOs of the group (International Growth and Offshore).
The new management team represents the increasing weight of the EDPR within the EDP Group and the current demands for growth, which will be critical for the Group’s future progress.
EDPR has announced the renewal of the Board of Directors following the reforms accepted yesterday at the Extraordinay General Shareholders’ Meeting of EDP following the declaration by António Mexia and João Manso Neto of their lack of availability to be re-elected for their EDP posts. A new Executive Board of Directors committee has been named by the shareholders of EDP and the Board of EDPR has decided to cease António Mexia as Chairman of the Board Board of Directors of EDPR and João Manso as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDPR and CEO of EDPR.
EDPR has also decided to simplify the Governance body, which will be composed of 12 Board members and, in addition to Miguel Stilwell, has co-opted two new Directors: Ana Paula Marques, as a Non-Executive Director, and Joan Avalin Dempsey, as an Independent Director.
