Vestas has received 168MW EnVentus orders from the Mediterranean.

An undisclosed customer form Turkey has a placed 66MW for a wind project that will see the installation of 11 V162-6.0MW turbines, as well as a 15-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM4000) service agreement.

“With the V162-6.0 MW, Vestas continues to drive down the cost of energy and increase the annual energy production of our customers’ projects. We are glad to see how the EnVentus platform enters the Turkish wind energy market and expands its footprint across markets globally.“

Olcayto Yigit, GM of Vestas Turkey.

Greece will have 102MW of wind power after Rokas Renewables, an Iberdrola Renewables affiliate, ordered 20 V150-4.2MW wind turbines for the Askio II and Askio III wind parks, as well as three V162-6.0 MW EnVentus wind turbines for the Rokani wind park.

Vestas will provide Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) support to the Askio II and Askio III projects for five years, and the Rokani project for ten years.

“This order showcases how Vestas’ latest technology can help our customers optimise their business cases and successfully compete in the auction system. We expect the extremely low levelised cost of energy and high reliability of our 4 MW and EnVentus platforms will play a major role in helping Greece achieve its renewable energy goals.”

Marios Zangas, head of Vestas Hellas.

“Rokas Renewables is committed to increase its strong footprint in Greece further in a sustainable and competitive way. We expect our partnership with a technology leader like Vestas will assist us to reach our goals.”

Thanasis Tsantilas, country manager for Iberdrola Renewables in Greece.

Turbine delivery for all three projects is planned for the first half of 2022, whilst commissioning is planned for the second half of the same year.
