Orsted and Equinor are two of ten new members of the AquaVentus program, which aims to produce 10GW of green hydrogen from offshore wind power in the North Sea by 2035.
WindMW, Offshore Wind Technologies, Vallourec, the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Buckstay, DNV, Karlsson, and Boskalis are among the new participants.
AquaVentus now has 50 members who work in areas such as offshore energy generation and operation, risk management, maritime services, pipe and steel production, and artificial intelligence, according to the company.
“We are still met with great interest from industry, business and science. “We are pleased about every new member who supports our plan to build a large-scale hydrogen park in the North Sea by 2035. “The project can only succeed if politicians and authorities make the legal framework suitable for green offshore wind-hydrogen.”
