Hydrogen Works is a new training program that has been launched by educational institutions and businesses in the North.
In the next years, the province of Groningen will develop into a hub for the hydrogen economy, and it is critical that there is an adequate number of qualified employees in place to support this development.
The Hydrogen Valley region in the northern Netherlands has been designated as the first hydrogen region in Europe. Growth, innovation, and employment are all boosted as a result, resulting in significant benefits for the region. In order for this new energy economy to be successful, the availability of adequate trained knowledge in the region is critical, according to the New Energy Coalition, which spearheaded the initiative.
Consequently, there will be a comprehensive training program in the subject of hydrogen. Specifically, this refers to education, training, traineeships, and internships at the MBO, HBO, university, and professional levels.
According to the New Energy Coalition, the program provides tremendous potential for the region, both in terms of education and job opportunities. The knowledge sector in Groningen, particularly in the subject of hydrogen, has the potential to grow into a European authoritative knowledge system, according to certain estimates.
In this initiative, the New Energy Coalition collaborates with educational institutions as well as the business sector to achieve success. The scheme will cost around 7 million euros. The project will be completed between 2022 and 2027.
