First self-driving hydrogen trucks will be launched by Gemini Motor Co. in 2025.
Prototype testing of Gemini’s first prototype is scheduled for 2023. With a maximum range of 2250 kilometers, and recharging time of less than 20 minutes, this truck is called RoboTruck. It will be able to run 24 hours a day, seven days a week without a driver, resulting in a four-fold increase in operational efficiency over a truck driven by a human.
RoboTruck’s artificial intelligence will be able to perform predictive maintenance and maximize the vehicle’s energy efficiency through software focused on Self-learning, all while adhering to the most stringent road safety standards possible.
Gemini Motor is currently developing an AV stack with a number of partners in preparation for testing this summer.
