The Indian government intends to expand export benefits under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) policy to local green hydrogen fuel manufacturers in an effort to become a major provider of clean fuel, according to Reuters.
When exports of green hydrogen begin, the RoDTEP scheme, which was created to give exporters rebates against some local levies, will be expanded.
India recently approved an incentive program worth USD 2.11 billion to increase domestic production and promote the usage of green hydrogen.
This action is intended to assist the nation, which is one of the major emitters of greenhouse gases in the world, in achieving net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2070.
By 2030, the nation wants to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually and meet at least 10% of the world’s need.
