A groundbreaking ceremony for a green hydrogen manufacturing facility was held by Green Solutions in Tra Vinh’s Dong Thanh hamlet, Dong Hai commune, and Duyen Hai district.
On a plot of land measuring roughly 21 hectares, the Trà Vinh Green Hydrogen Production Plant project represents an investment of almost VND 8,000 billion. Two years are allotted for the construction process. The project uses electrolysis of saltwater to make hydrogen. Water is split into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. The generated hydrogen is transportable, appropriate for application in a variety of industries, and may be stored in liquid form.
The Green Solutions’ investment strategy for the Trà Vinh Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant project is consistent with the trend towards green economic development and global green growth, and it improves Vietnam’s standing and reputation abroad as it pursues its goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
After the project is finished and put into operation, it will be able to produce 24,000 tonnes of hydrogen and 195,000 tonnes of oxygen with a medical grade. Between 300–500 workers will have jobs as a result of the initiative.
According to the Vietnam Chemical Industry Development Strategy, green hydrogen generation from renewable energy is to be achieved by 2030 with a focus on 2040.
Green hydrogen is a clean and sustainable fuel that could displace fossil fuels in a number of sectors, including industry, transportation, and power generation. In order to decarbonize the energy industry and advance sustainable energy solutions, The Green Solutions must first complete construction of the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen Production Plant.
Local leaders also remarked how excited they were about the new plant and how it may help the area thrive economically and environmentally. In the region’s energy sector, the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen Production Plant is anticipated to draw investment and foster innovation. Also, the project will lead to the creation of employment opportunities and support local economic development.
