Stellantis and Lhyfe Heroes Team Up to Drive Hydrogen-Powered Commercial Vehicles

Stellantis, a leading manufacturer of hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles (LCVs), has formed a partnership with Lhyfe Heroes, a digital platform dedicated to supporting project initiators in finding hydrogen solutions and equipment for their ongoing ventures.

Over a year ago, Stellantis introduced its first compact van range, which includes the Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen, Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen, and Opel Vivaro-e Hydrogen. Currently, these vehicles are manufactured in France and converted to hydrogen in Germany. However, starting from 2024, they will be mass-produced at the Hordain site in northern France, which will have the capacity to produce 5,000 hydrogen vehicles annually. As part of its strategic plan, DARE FORWARD 2030, Stellantis has expressed its commitment to further expanding its lineup of fuel cell commercial vehicles, particularly targeting high-mileage commercial users.

In the rapidly emerging hydrogen economy, project initiators involved in hydrogen projects need to navigate the complex value chain, encompassing hydrogen production, refueling solutions, and vehicles, among other components. This complexity can hinder project progress. By joining the Lhyfe Heroes platform, Stellantis aims to assist customers in implementing their hydrogen plans.

Lhyfe Heroes, created by Lhyfe, a pioneer in the production of green and renewable hydrogen for transportation and industry, seeks to support both hydrogen project initiators and solution providers. Since its launch in November 2022, the platform has experienced thousands of visits per month, demonstrating the strong demand for information on new hydrogen products and services.

Through its partnership with Lhyfe Heroes, Stellantis now provides an online catalog of its various vehicles, including their characteristics and key data. Visitors seeking a fleet of commercial hydrogen vehicles can easily access comprehensive information on various van models with just a few clicks. They can also refine their search criteria to find the most suitable options. The data collected from the platform’s usage will enable Stellantis to gain a better understanding of customer needs.

Peter Kuhn, responsible for hydrogen development at Stellantis (Citroën, Peugeot, and Opel), emphasized the importance of simultaneous development across the hydrogen value chain. He stated, “The Lhyfe Heroes initiative represents an opportunity to accelerate the projects of our customers and the entire industry in Europe. It’s a real asset for everyone!”

Claire Le Dren, responsible for the development of Lhyfe Heroes, expressed pride in Stellantis’ trust and emphasized their joint mission to facilitate the rapid and massive development of cleaner mobility using green and renewable hydrogen.
