First Hydrogen Corp. Finalizes Land Agreements, Aims for Green Hydrogen Production

First Hydrogen Corp. has finalized land option agreements with the City of Shawinigan, Quebec, and shared its vision for a green hydrogen-powered energy transition in Quebec and North America. The company plans to produce up to 35 MW of green hydrogen, using advanced electrolysis technology. This hydrogen will be utilized by its fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs), to be assembled in a new Shawinigan plant. The plant targets an annual production capacity of 25,000 vehicles and will contribute significantly to job creation in green technology. First Hydrogen’s vision aligns with the Government of Quebec’s Green Hydrogen and Bioenergy Strategy, as well as the Energy Transition Valley Innovation Zone, Hydrogen Québec, and the Hydrogen Research Institute.

DOE honors PNNL Hydrogen Safety Panel with a special award

A major award was recently presented to Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) at the Department of Energy’s annual hydrogen program awards.

The Hydrogen Safety Panel (HSP) of PNNL received the DOE’s Hydrogen Program Special Award on June 7 during its 2023 Annual Merit Review and Peer Evaluation Meeting, which was held close to Alexandria, Virginia.

The DOE’s Hydrogen Program honors partner institutions with awards each year in order to acknowledge their contributions to the program’s overall goals as well as their work in specific fields of research and development.

Gentari works with Sarawak Energy and SEDC Energy for EV charging and hydrogen production

Gentari announced that it has signed strategic collaboration agreements with Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and SEDC Energy (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation) to explore potential collaboration in developing and deploying clean energy solutions in Sarawak.

Gentari and SEB will work to diversify Sarawak’s energy mix by deploying renewable energy projects. Gentari and SEDC Energy will produce green hydrogen using Sarawak’s renewable resources.

Gentari is working with SEB and SEDC Energy on a Sarawak electric vehicle charging network to promote green mobility and low-carbon transportation.
