Green Hydrogen Systems and BioCirc have recently inked a Letter of Intent, signifying their cooperation in the testing and supply of a 6MW pressurized alkaline electrolyser. This collaboration carries the potential to revolutionize the landscape of hydrogen production and is a significant stride toward a more sustainable energy future.

The centerpiece of this partnership is the HyProvide® X1200 unit, a technological marvel that boasts the capability to produce a staggering 107 kilograms of ‘high-purity’ hydrogen per hour. As the world sets its sights on green hydrogen as a key player in the transition to clean energy, the X1200 promises to be a game-changer. Green Hydrogen Systems aims to commence commercial sales of its X-Series 6MW electrolyser in the fourth quarter of 2023, marking a pivotal moment in the proliferation of green hydrogen technologies.

While the partnership between Green Hydrogen Systems and BioCirc holds immense promise, it’s important to acknowledge the challenges and milestones that lie ahead. This collaboration is still in its early-stage development, with several crucial steps on the horizon. These include obtaining permissions, approvals, and licenses from various stakeholders, including public authorities. The process will also entail site selection, installation, and rigorous testing of the supplied electrolyser. These steps are pivotal in ensuring that the technology aligns with safety standards and environmental regulations.

Søren Rydbirk, Chief Commercial Officer at Green Hydrogen Systems, expresses the significance of this cooperation, emphasizing that it enables the next step in the potential site testing and supply of an X-Series unit. Such on-site hydrogen production not only drives technological innovation but also offers valuable operational experience, furthering the cause of sustainable energy.

Bertel Maigaard, Chief Executive Officer at BioCirc, regards the potential for site testing as a significant milestone. He emphasizes that this collaboration is the initial stride on the journey toward on-site hydrogen production at their future energy clusters, showcasing the long-term vision and commitment to green hydrogen solutions.

Notably, Green Hydrogen Systems recently underwent a change in leadership, appointing Peter Friis as its interim CEO and a member of the company’s Executive Management team. This transition underscores the dynamism and adaptability required in the rapidly evolving green hydrogen sector.
