HYPORT station at Toulouse-Blagnac airport stands tall as a pioneering example of green hydrogen production, marking a transformative shift in the Occitanie region’s commitment to carbon neutrality.
This cutting-edge facility boasts a production capacity of over 400 kg of green hydrogen daily, setting a new benchmark for high-power electrolysis.
The primary goal of the HYPORT station is to champion the use of green hydrogen as a clean and versatile energy source. With an impressive capacity, the station aims to fuel not only mobility solutions like buses and light vehicles but also extends its applications to industrial and logistics purposes. The commitment to 100% renewable and local electricity underscores its dedication to a sustainable energy ecosystem.
At the heart of the HYPORT station is a state-of-the-art electrolyser with a capacity of 1 MW, powered by renewable electricity sourced from the Fanjeaux photovoltaic farm and hydropower dams in the Pyrenees. This innovative technology ensures that the hydrogen produced is green and contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions. The station includes two distribution terminals strategically located for efficient refueling operations.
The potential impact of the HYPORT station extends beyond Toulouse-Blagnac airport. With the capability to fuel buses, light vehicles, pushback tractors, generators, lorries, and coaches, this hydrogen hub is a comprehensive solution for diverse transportation and industrial needs. Additionally, the export zone opens avenues for surplus hydrogen utilization in special events, industrial processes, or even the production of e-kerosene.
