Voltalia has sold a ready-to-build wind project (28 megawatts) located in Voltalia’s Serra Branca cluster, Brazil, to the Japanese construction company TODA.

Voltalia will also provide construction, storage , maintenance and administrative services for TODA.

“Thanks to our high-quality pipeline of projects and our integrated model we are able to sell projects at different stages: ready to build, during construction or post construction. Under the agreements signed with TODA, our teams provide a full-scope of solutions including the Development, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), O&M (Operation and Maintenance) and AM (Asset Management, as per the Greensolver business model) of the future wind farm.”

Sébastien Clerc, Chief Executive Officer of Voltalia.

The TODA project is part of Voltalia’s Serra Branca cluster, the largest wind and solar cluster in the world.

The site covers approximately 40,000 hectares in a 50-by-15-kilometers area.

The Serra Branca cluster has a grid link network of more than 2.4 gigawatts created and installed by Voltalia, serving 0.8 gigawatts of Voltalia wind turbines in service and development, 0.3 gigawatts of Voltalia solar projects with already negotiated contracts, 0.7 gigawatts of wind turbines sold to partners (including TODA) and 0.7 gigawatts of additional capacity to be sold to part of Voltalia solar projects.

The construction of a new wind farm is scheduled to begin this year, with commercial service beginning in July 2021. From this time, an eight-year contract will begin with Voltalia providing for the operation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, such as medium voltage networks, substations and transmission lines.

Voltalia will also perform wind farm supervision services, including turbine performance analysis and asset management. This wide range of services encompasses the technical and administrative services normally provided in Europe by Greensolver, a subsidiary of Voltalia.

Voltalia will provide its operating services thanks to its new Operations Center located in Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, which will be 100% operational in the coming months.

The Center will be responsible for the monitoring and operation of wind farms worldwide and will improve the energy output of both Voltalia’s wind farms and its customers.
