To fulfill rising demand, the business wants to build an $83 million hydrogen gas facility in rural southwest Alabama.
The factory will be built in Washington County, roughly 45 miles (72 kilometers) from the state’s largest port in Mobile, according to Linde, which defines itself as a leading worldwide gas and engineering firm with $31 billion in sales last year.
Linde stated in a statement issued through the Commerce Department that the plant, which would generate six manufacturing jobs and ten truck driver roles, will assist the firm to satisfy the demand for liquid hydrogen for industries specialized in aerospace, electronics, manufacturing, and mobility.
Companies have invested $2.3 billion in new capital in rural counties over the previous two years, according to Brenda Tuck, rural development manager for the state commerce office.
In a statement, she added, “The secret is out – these rural places are ripe for expansion and offer high-performance enterprises a variety of strategic benefits.”
The facility is scheduled to start up in 2024.
