The Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) and HyGreenCo, a division of the French company Solges-Energy, have signed a contract for the development of Armenia’s first commercial demonstration of a green hydrogen production network.
The event was attended by Vache Terteryan, deputy minister of territorial administration and infrastructure, Anne Louyot, ambassador of France to Armenia, and Hasmik Tolmajian, ambassador of Yerevan to France.
The industrial demonstration, created by French Research Institutes and Laboratories, will supply environmentally clean power to the COAF SMART Center in the province of Lori before moving on to the community of Debet. Electricity generated by the solar power plant will fuel the green hydrogen electrolyzer.
After being created and stored, the hydrogen will either be sent to the hydrogen plant or turned into energy, providing users with power that emits no CO2.
On the one hand, this Franco-Armenian partnership will help French businesses advance their clean energy technology, notably in the area of hydrogen generation. On the other hand, it will support Armenia’s development of a green economy and help it rank among nations with low carbon emissions.
