Atome Energy signed the contract with the local business Concret-Mix. It appointed Aecom as the project’s owner’s engineer in June. Aecom provided consulting services for the FEED contract.

This initial step is a 60 MW Villeta project. The civil and electromechanical works to adapt the ANDE substation will be covered by the FEED work.

The designer must deliver the FEED by September 30, 2022. Atome will then select an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm to prepare the site to receive power. The organization intends to achieve a final investment decision (FID) on this project before the end of the year.

Atome CEO Olivier Mussat stated that the FEED contract was the “next step in what will ultimately result in 400 MW of green hydrogen and ammonia production in Paraguay, the first phase of which is anticipated to begin production in the first quarter of 2025 at Villeta.”

“We are, as well as other local partners and stakeholders, particularly pleased to ensure local content and jobs in our project and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Concret-Mix who we are also working with us in our Mobility Division,” Mussat said.
