The Department of Energy is funding $28 million in research and development programs focused at advancing the use of clean hydrogen in power generation, industrial processes, and transportation. DOE announced Monday that the financing opportunity will encourage the deployment of carbon capture technologies to generate clean hydrogen from waste materials such as plastics, biomass, legacy coal, and municipal solid waste.
