For its environmentally friendly hydrogen and ammonia production and storage facility in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, which is slated to begin commercial operations in 2025, EverWind has chosen Black & Veatch to offer front-end engineering design (FEED) services.

The facility’s first phase will see green hydrogen and green ammonia produced through electrolysis utilizing certified green power from the Nova Scotia Power transmission system; the facility’s second phase will use onshore wind energy to power production.

In later phases, EverWind will use offshore wind energy to electrolyze hydrogen to create fuel, maximizing the potential of offshore wind in Nova Scotia.

The first two phases will generate a total of 1 million tonnes of green ammonia annually.
