The Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS) held an international tender, which CaetanoBus won, for the provision of up to 60 hydrogen-powered electric buses over the following five years.
This is the largest framework deal for H2.City Gold hydrogen electric buses that CaetanoBus has ever finalised in France.
The new generation of Toyota fuel cells, which have a nominal output of 70 kW, will be installed in this low-floor standard light bus starting in 2024. Moreover, the buses have a motor with a max output of 180 kW and a compact 44 kWh LTO battery.
The firm claims that this setup will give the H2.City Gold a range of more than 500 km, which is comparable to the range of regular diesel buses on a single charge.
The first H2.City Gold vehicles in France have been operating with RATP Dev at La Roche-Sur-Yon since 2022, and the town of Les Sables d’Olonne will get its first vehicles this year.
The H2.City Gold was also mentioned by the CATP – Centrale d’Achat du Transport Public – towards the conclusion of 2022.
