Caroline Lünenschloss of the Wuppertal CDU and Tilman Kuban of the JU Federal Chairman got a glimpse of the Wuppertaler Stadtwerke’s hydrogen buses at the depot in Weiterebreck. Rainer Spiecker, the mayor, was also present.
A pilot project by the WSW promises hydrogen as a fuel for a new generation of buses in public transportation. When it came to electrical technology, trained mechatronics technician Lünenschloss was at home: “The hydrogen bus is a sustainable and sensible alternative to the previous diesel vehicles, especially in cities like Wuppertal, where we can generate the necessary hydrogen on site. The pilot project will be supported by Kuban and Lünenschloss indefinitely.
Finally, JU chairman Lünenschloss presented her with a pair of JU-designed sneakers and symbolically wished her a successful march to Berlin.
