With a series of meetings with the Port of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, Ceará got to know the offshore technology of green hydrogen.
According to the State Superintendent of the Environment (Semace), Carlos Alberto Mendes, who participated in the meeting with the director of operations of SIF Offshore Foundations, Frank Kevenaar, the idea is to import the technology to the state.
“The objective is to take this model to our state, making it the first in the country in the generation of wind energy inside the sea, and that will be the main instrument for the production of green hydrogen. It is noteworthy that we are already the first in wind energy on land”, highlights Alberto.
SIF specializes in towers and foundations to produce offshore wind energy. It has been in business since 1948 and manufactures large tubular steel and thick structures, also providing logistics services. The company employs more than 600 people in the Netherlands.
