CHAR Technologies recently received a significant financial boost from the Government of Québec.
Through the Programme Innovation Bois, the government has approved a grant of $2.5 million to support CHAR Technologies’ innovative project. This project aims to transform wood wastes and residuals into valuable resources. Specifically, the focus is on creating biocarbon to replace metallurgical coal and producing green hydrogen, which will be further developed into renewable natural gas.
The funding provided by the Québec government is non-repayable and will be distributed based on the achievement of specific project milestones. CHAR Technologies will build, own, and operate the facilities needed for this transformation process. The project promises to advance sustainable practices by utilizing waste products and converting them into cleaner energy sources.
