In accordance with the multi-year master supply agreement that CHARBONE HYDROGEN signed with ELOGEN SAS, a GTT Company, CHARBONE is ensuring its supply chain for PEM electrolyzers for up to 100 Megawatts over a four-year period, from 2023 to 2026.

For all of CHARBONE’s North American green hydrogen projects, PEM electrolyzers from the whole ELOGEN product line, ranging from 0.5 MW to 5.0 MW, will be provided by ELOGEN to CHARBONE.

Along with providing some of the installation, commissioning, start-up, operation, and maintenance services, ELOGEN will also teach CHARBONE’s staff to carry out those jobs locally. The Agreement also contains a clause allowing CHARBONE and ELOGEN to evaluate and use the option of locally constructing the PEM electrolyzers in Canada and the United States.

“This multi-year master supply arrangement with ELOGEN is one of the most significant turning points for CHARBONE and, in our opinion, the whole North American green hydrogen industry. With the signing of this Agreement, we have now guaranteed the supply of electrolyzers for all of the projects in our project portfolio, both those we have announced and those we are still working on. According to Dave Gagnon, CEO and Chairman of Charbone, no other Canadian manufacturers of green hydrogen have as of yet made such an announcement. “ELOGEN and CHARBONE’s vitality and combined strengths form a powerful and solid partnership for the commencement of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the Canadian and North American economies,” according to the statement.

The managing director of Elogen, Jean-Baptiste Choimet, says: “This deal is consistent with our objective to establish alliances with potent local companies. We are thrilled to be working with the innovative startup CHARBONE since we both have big plans for the advancement of environmentally friendly hydrogen generation.
