Chart Industries has received a significant order for its hydrogen liquefier, liquid hydrogen transport and ISO containers from Element Resources.

The order will be utilized at Element’s Lancaster Clean Energy Center (LCEC), a substantial renewable green hydrogen production facility in California.

Element’s green hydrogen facility in Lancaster, set to begin commercial operations in 2026, plans to generate more than 20,000 tons of renewable green hydrogen annually in its initial phase. This quantity positions the LCEC amongst the most considerable green hydrogen projects in California. The off-grid facility will harness dedicated photovoltaic solar power to energize Element’s electrolyzers, creating zero-emission, renewable hydrogen. LCEC’s amplified hydrogen production will cater to the burgeoning demand for clean mobility fuels and green energy for manufacturing industries.

Element Resources has signed an agreement to purchase hydrogen liquefaction systems from Chart, incorporating their hydrogen refrigeration technology, cold box design, and associated rotating equipment. The complete order encompasses Chart’s hydrogen liquefaction system, liquid hydrogen storage tanks, trailer loadout bays, liquid hydrogen transports, and ISO Containers. Addition to these are the hydrogen compression mechanisms for secure storage, distribution, and potent fueling.
