A hydrogen production project in China led by Dalian Clean Energy Group is set to revolutionize the country’s energy landscape.

By integrating shoal photovoltaic, energy storage, seawater desalination, and hydrogen production, this ambitious venture represents a remarkable step towards a greener future. Chart Industries has been selected to supply cutting-edge hydrogen compression solutions, underscoring the company’s commitment to driving sustainable energy solutions worldwide.

The Dalian seawater hydrogen production project aims to set new benchmarks in the hydrogen industry by integrating multiple energy systems into one cohesive venture. This innovative approach bypasses power grid limitations and establishes China’s first hydrogen production project with isolated power system operation. The project’s ultimate goal is to contribute to China’s energy transition journey and promote the use of green electricity and hydrogen on a large scale.

Chart Industries, through its Howden business, will supply state-of-the-art hydrogen compression solutions to support the Dalian project. These cutting-edge technologies play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe compression of hydrogen, a key component in the production and storage of green energy.

The integration of photovoltaic, energy storage, seawater desalination, and hydrogen production in one project marks a significant milestone for China’s hydrogen industry. With an initial investment of approximately 800 million RMB, the project is poised to generate 137 million KWH of green electricity annually and produce 2,000 tons of green hydrogen per year. This endeavor showcases China’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and sets the stage for a greener, more eco-friendly future.

The Dalian seawater hydrogen production project stands as a testament to China’s commitment to driving sustainable energy solutions. With Chart Industries supplying its cutting-edge hydrogen compression solutions, the project gains crucial support from a global leader in the field. As China continues its energy transition journey, this groundbreaking venture sets the precedent for future integrated hydrogen production projects, signaling a transformative shift towards a greener, more sustainable future.
