China’s government work report for this year has broken new ground by spotlighting the acceleration of hydrogen energy development, signaling a significant shift towards embracing this clean energy source.
Zhang Guoqiang, a deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) and Chairman of SinoHytec, lauded this move, emphasizing the pivotal role of hydrogen energy in the global energy transition.
Hydrogen energy emerges as a crucial player in the latest global energy transition, with proponents like Zhang Guoqiang envisioning it as a catalyst for revolutionizing energy production and consumption. Its potential lies in establishing a clean, low-carbon, secure, and efficient energy system, ultimately contributing to carbon peak and neutrality targets.
At this year’s Two Sessions, Zhang Guoqiang advocated for promoting the large-scale application of hydrogen energy to drive industry growth. He emphasized the need for increased support and policy formulation to improve quality, reduce costs, and expand fuel cell vehicle demonstration city clusters.
China’s recognition of hydrogen energy’s potential marks a significant step towards sustainable development and carbon neutrality.
