Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), 162.2 MW onshore wind farm, Bearkat II, successfully launched commercial operations and obtained tax equity financing in October 2020.
Bearkat II is located in Glasscock County, Texas, and has been co-developed by Dallas-based developer Tri Global Energy. The project uses 47 V126-3.45 MW Vestas turbines that generate wind power to support the ERCOT power sector.
Generated power is sold under a long-term offtake arrangement with a major U.S. financial institution, which limits the project’s exposure to underlying power prices.
Construction of the Bearkat II project began in March 2019 and was successfully completed below budget despite the difficult market conditions due to COVID-19. The project was partly financed by Copenhagen Infrastructure II K/S, with the remaining financing coming from two tax equity investors.

The project is expected to generate electricity equivalent to the electricity usage of more than 56,000 US households per year on average.
