CMMZE Invest UAE and Gaia Future Energy have entered into a Joint Development Agreement to work on an innovative green hydrogen project in Guelmim, Morocco.
This collaboration signifies both companies’ dedication to propelling renewable energy initiatives and positioning Morocco as a pivotal player in the green hydrogen industry.
CMMZE Invest UAE is tasked with advancing the technical dimensions of the project, including the development of technologies for hydrogen production, handling, and transportation. CEO Alex expressed enthusiasm for partnering with Gaia Future Energy, emphasizing the potential of their combined efforts to foster a sustainable future by blending CMMZE’s technological innovations with Gaia’s comprehensive experience in renewable energy.
The project plans to utilize a 200 MWe electrolyser capacity, powered by wind, solar, and battery storage, to produce hydrogen for export through the Port of Agadir. This initiative coincides with Morocco’s ambition to establish itself as a global leader in green hydrogen production, targeting completion by 2025.
Moundir Zniber, CEO of Gaia Future Energy, stated that the partnership is crucial for leveraging Morocco’s renewable resources to meet the rising demand for clean energy. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would bolster Morocco’s standing in sustainable energy and contribute to worldwide energy solutions. Gaia Future Energy will handle project management and coordination with Moroccan authorities, ensuring compliance with both national and international standards.
