Elektroprivreda BiH, Bosnian state-controlled power company, has started construction of the ‘Podveležje 1’ onshore wind farm near the town of Mostar.
The wind farm will comprise 15 wind turbines with the estimated annual electricity production of circa 130 GWh.
The wind farm is being built by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Croatia, in a consortium with Wind Power, Denmark.
Bosnian companies, HP Investing Mostar and Minersko Sarajevo are building the foundations for the wind turbines, along with conducting mining works for the project.
Podveležje 1 wind farm will be financed by a loan from German development bank KfW and Elektroprivreda BiH’s own funding.
In addition, Elektroprivreda BiH signed 30-year concession contract with the government of HNK.
The wind farm is expected to be commissioned in the Q1 2021.
