CS Energy and Senex Energy have agreed to produce green hydrogen to power the latest stop on the east coast Hydrogen Superhighway, resulting in the creation of even more skilled jobs in regional Queensland.

Energy, Renewable Energy, and Hydrogen Minister Mick de Brenni announced that CS Energy and Senex, a natural gas producer, have formed a joint venture (JV) to develop the Kogan Renewable Hydrogen Demonstration Plant near Chinchilla.

According to the joint venture agreement, CS Energy will operate the plant and own 75% of the stock, while Senex Energy will own 25% of the stock.

The Kogan Renewable Hydrogen Demonstration Plant will be built next to CS Energy’s Kogan Creek Power Station to produce green hydrogen. A solar farm, battery, hydrogen electrolyser, hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen storage, and out loading facility will all be co-located in the project.

The plant will be built by IHI Engineering Australia, with construction set to begin in September this year.
