With the agreement of Cummins and Westport Fuel Systems, Westport’s stake in the Cummins Westport Joint Venture will be sold, with Cummins continuing to operate the business as a sole owner of Westport.

An end date of December 31, 2021 was previously announced for the Cummins Westport joint venture agreement. After signing the agreement, Cummins will also purchase the intellectual property developed by Westport for use in the JV’s spark-ignited engines, with a $20 million profit for Westport.

Hydrogen high pressure direct injection (H2 HPDI) from Westport, which could be used for CMI hydrogen applications, has also been agreed to by Cummins and Westport.
