The Danish Energy Agency, the country’s electricity and gas grid operator Energinet, and the country’s gas distributor Evida initiated a market conversation to solicit comments from hydrogen and PtX players regarding their interest in and need for hydrogen infrastructure in Denmark.

By September 12, projects producing hydrogen, planning to use hydrogen, or both, are encouraged to respond to a survey.

The effort will assist Energinet and Evida in preparing for a hydrogen infrastructure until their respective roles are clarified. According to the two businesses, the PtX agreement allows them to own and operate hydrogen infrastructure. Earlier in 2022, Denmark established a wide governmental agreement to promote Power-to-X technology.

Stine Grenaa Jensen, vice president of system development at Energinet, stated that hydrogen infrastructure can generate value from Denmark’s abundant renewable energy resources.
