Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) and Daures Green Hydrogen Village are investigating the prospect of collaborating to develop green hydrogen and green ammonia in Namibia.
The project, which aims to not only revolutionize farming in Africa by possibly producing agricultural products using fertilizer made from green ammonia but also to supply green hydrogen and green ammonia to regional and international markets, will now be subject to a period of exclusivity for FFI to research and conduct due diligence.
The German Federal Ministry of Research and Education has provided money for the first phase of the projected Daures Green Hydrogen Village project, which is now composed of more than 1 MW of renewable energy and a 500 kW electrolyzer.
In collaboration with the Universities of Namibia and Stuttgart, it is proposed to provide a vegetable greenhouse and numerous agricultural research programs.
