E.ON has joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, aimed to support the achievement of climate targets by expanding the use of hydrogen (H2) as an energy carrier and to promote the development of a European hydrogen economy.
The alliance, which currently comprises around 200 companies and other organizations, is committed to expanding and implementing hydrogen technologies by 2030.
Other goals include promoting demand for low-carbon hydrogen from sectors such as industry and mobility and bringing together hydrogen transmission and distribution.
In order to achieve these goals, the Alliance brings together politics, industry and society and thus provides the EU Commission with its expertise to advise it on the implementation of its hydrogen strategy.
