A major global automaker has hired EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies GmbH (EKPO) to deliver mass-produced bipolar plates for the automaker’s upcoming fuel cell system.
EKPO operates in collaboration with French automotive supplier Plastic Omnium, which owns the remaining ownership interests, and is fully consolidated inside the Group of majority shareholder ElringKlinger.
The contract has a five-year initial period beginning in 2026 and a mid-triple-digit million euro total volume. EKPO plans to invest in production at a new location in the high double-digit million euro range.
