Electriq Global, a pioneer and industry leader in Solid Hydrogen Carriers, has been awarded a €1.1M grant from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

The grant will support the design and engineering of Electriq’s first-of-its-kind Hydrogen Powder manufacturing plant, which is slated to be built on Zenith Energy Terminals’ grounds in Amsterdam. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in 2026.

Electriq’s Hydrogen Powder technology is a breakthrough technology that promises to significantly reduce production costs and drastically lower carbon footprint. It is a solid form of hydrogen that is safe, easy to transport, and can be stored at ambient temperature and pressure. This makes it an ideal solution for a wide range of applications, including transportation, energy storage, and industrial processes.

The Port of Amsterdam and the H2A association strongly support the Electriq Powder plant, as it aligns perfectly with their vision to transform the port into a central hub for hydrogen carriers. The port has a target of handling 1 million tons of hydrogen by 2030.

The Electriq Powder plant has the potential to have a significant impact on the global hydrogen economy. By making hydrogen more affordable and accessible, Electriq Global is helping to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen across a wide range of industries.

The plant is also expected to create jobs and boost the Dutch economy. The RVO grant is a testament to the Dutch government’s commitment to supporting the development of the hydrogen economy.

The Electriq Powder plant is a groundbreaking project with the potential to revolutionize the hydrogen industry.
