Elogen stated that the municipality of Vendôme in the Centre-Val de Loire area has been selected as the location for its future electrolyser manufacturing facility (“gigafactory”).
Following the announcements made by the Ministers of Economy, Finance, and Ecological Transition, Elogen, a subsidiary of the GTT group and the French market leader in PEM[1] electrolysis technology, announces that the town of Vendôme in the Centre-Val de Loire region has been chosen as the location for its future electrolyser manufacturing plant (“gigafactory”). For some months, Elogen has been constructing a gigafactory project with the goal of creating high-capacity stacks[2] by 2025.
Elogen’s initiative is one of 15 files pre-notified to the European Commission by the French government as part of the IPCEI[3] for hydrogen, which the European Commission is still investigating.
Elogen’s electrolysis stack output capacity would exceed 1 GW by 2030 if the project is selected as part of the IPCEI.
Additionally, as part of this project, the company will extend its presence in Greater Paris (Ile-de-France) by strengthening its R&D at its Les Ulis location, which is close to the Paris-Saclay technological and scientific cluster. Elogen will focus its R&D efforts on the development of high-power stacks and novel membranes in collaboration with European academic and industry partners.
