The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Shell, the City of Houston, Greentown Labs, and the Urban Future Lab (UFL) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering have unveiled the participation of seven startups in the Low-Carbon Hydrogen Accelerator (LCHA).
LCHA is a Greentown Go initiative that supports low-carbon hydrogen production, storage, and distribution solutions.
LCHA is the 2022 program for the Go Energize track and is part of the Greentown Go family of programs—climatetech Greentown’s partnerships accelerator. This highly structured six-month accelerator program provides startup participants with opportunities to collaborate and engage with EPRI, its member utilities, and Shell on technology validation, feasibility studies, paid pilot demonstrations, and other development and commercial partnerships.
LCHA received 88 applications from 18 countries, representing a wide range of innovations in low-carbon hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and distribution, and business model innovations for hydrogen supply chain management. Seven companies were chosen after a highly competitive judging and selection process, representing the broad innovation needed across the low-carbon hydrogen supply chain.
Advanced Ionics, Arco Technologies, Clean Power, Element Resources, Smartpipe Technologies, SPEC Sensors, and RUNWITHIT Synthetics are among the companies involved.
EPRI and Shell will offer the startups two main engagement options: a technology validation track and a technology demonstration track.
