The technical and financial suitability of a proposed placement at Engie’s plant at Rodenhuize in Ghent (Belgium) was evaluated by Equinor as part of the feasibility study for the 1 GW H2BE hydrogen project, which has already been completed.
In order to advance H2BE to the following stage of development and advance it further toward concept selection in 2023, ENGIE and Equinor have decided to sign a joint development agreement (JDA).
More than 20 potential hydrogen off-takers indicated an interest in H2BE last year, and Belgian authorities and investment funds have written letters of support for the company.
