Review of Safety-related Physical and Combustion Properties of Hydrogen Compared to Natural Gas
Dr. Lennie Klebanoff from Sandia National Laboratories in the United States will present a seminar introducing hydrogen technology, and reviewing the properties of hydrogen important for its safe use.
Descriptions will be given of how hydrogen is produced and stored, along with its physical characteristics that impact how it behaves during leaks.
The combustion properties of hydrogen will also be discussed including the nature of hydrogen flames, along with the topics hydrogen embrittlement, permeability and dispersion in air.
Many of these properties will be compared to those of natural gas for which there is more familiarity. The review assumes the audience has no prior knowledge of hydrogen, so all are welcome!
