Exide Technologies has secured a new contract with an Italian foundry specializing in structural castings for the machine and energy sectors, deploying its Solition Mega Three large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to support commercial and industrial (C&I) energy needs.

The Solition Mega Three containerized system delivers 1.7 MW of power and 3.44 MWh of energy capacity, positioning it as a scalable solution for energy-intensive industrial operations, including foundries, manufacturing plants, and heavy processing facilities. By integrating storage, clients can optimize peak load management, reduce energy costs, and enhance reliability, while simultaneously advancing decarbonization goals.

Exide’s operations in the Bergamo province leverage expertise in energy storage integration with local and regional energy markets, enabling industrial customers to unlock additional revenue through mechanisms such as demand response, peak shaving, and ancillary service participation. High-value consulting and tailored energy market strategies are central to maximizing operational and financial returns from storage deployments.

The deployment is part of a broader trend in Southern Europe, where C&I customers increasingly adopt BESS to address rising electricity prices, grid congestion, and sustainability mandates. By combining operational flexibility with decarbonization potential, large-scale BESS projects like Exide’s Solition Mega Three help industrial operators navigate energy market volatility while reducing carbon intensity.
