Nicholas Wrigley has been named Chairman and Director of First Hydrogen UK.

Wrigley founded Winch Energy Group in 2008 and served as its CEO until recently, after which he became non-executive Chairman. Wrigley was also a founding partner of UPC Renewables, which has built over 4 gigawatts of wind power over the last 15 years.

Wrigley will be in charge of First Hydrogen’s global development of hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered light and medium commercial vehicle business, as well as the company’s two MAN hydrogen fuel cell road legal demonstrators, which will be built in collaboration with AVL Powertrain UK and Ballard Power Systems.
Wrigley will also work with consultants FEV Group to develop and build out the recently announced hydrogen refueling stations division, as well as pursue other complementary opportunities in the hydrogen space, such as hydrogen production and procurement.

Wrigley graduated from Chester Law School and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales as well as the Italian Bar. Wrigley previously worked at the international law firm Clifford Chance as a Managing Partner and Head of Continental Europe.
