The first vehicle that uses combined combustion technology of diesel and hydrogen was introduced in the Sultanate of Oman by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) in collaboration with an Omani company specializing in research and development.
As part of the ministry’s efforts in the neutrality program “Carbon Zero,” this will result in lower carbon dioxide emissions compared to a typical diesel vehicle.
According to the Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, His Excellency Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, the local Omani company Blue Eyes and the Zero Neutrality team have developed a diesel-powered truck that is anticipated to reduce the equivalent of 40% of carbon dioxide by August.
His Highness further stated that the ministry is willing to finance and support the development of any technology in Oman in order for the country to become a hub for technology exportation.
