France Hydrogène and the Scottish Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster collaboration and cooperation between the two entities.
The memorandum aims to harness the collective expertise and strengths of both organizations, fostering a new era of collaboration and knowledge-sharing. With a combined membership exceeding 650 organizations, this partnership is poised to drive impactful projects and initiatives in the hydrogen sector.
The MoU outlines several key objectives to guide the collaboration between France Hydrogène and SHFCA, including:
- Collaborative Projects: Facilitating effective collaboration between member organizations of France Hydrogène and SHFCA.
- Knowledge Sharing: Promoting sector growth and sharing best practices for the safe utilization and deployment of hydrogen technology.
- Advocacy and Representation: Strengthening engagement with organizations in complementary geographic regions to foster alliances.
- Capacity Building: Supporting skills development, training, education, and STEM outreach activities.
- Resource Sharing: Coordinating joint efforts in news dissemination, communications, and events to advance common interests.

Gillian Martin, the Scottish Government Energy Minister, emphasized the strategic significance of this partnership in accelerating hydrogen development in both countries. The collaboration is poised to drive skills development, business growth, and vital research and development endeavors crucial for the energy transition.
France Hydrogène boasts a membership of over 450 stakeholders, representing the entire value chain of the French hydrogen sector. Meanwhile, SHFCA, with its diverse membership base exceeding 220 organizations, reflects the growing recognition of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies’ potential to enable renewable energy solutions.
